Hunter Biden's ex-wife makes a surprise about-face! – Secrets revealed about the Biden family...
Hunter Biden’s Ex-Wife Opens Up About His Addiction, Infidelity and Family Turmoil
Kathleen Buhle, Hunter Biden’s former wife, publicly described the painful breakdown of their marriage, including his struggles with substance abuse, repeated infidelity and the impact those problems had on their family.
Buhle’s account appeared most prominently in her 2022 memoir, “If We Break,” which examined her 24-year marriage to Hunter Biden and the circumstances surrounding their divorce.
The memoir focused primarily on marriage, addiction and healing rather than presenting a comprehensive investigation into the Biden family or its political affairs.
Buhle described Hunter’s substance-abuse problems as increasingly disruptive to their household, saying his behavior changed significantly as his addiction worsened.
She said she discovered evidence of drug use inside their home in 2015, shortly after the death of Hunter’s brother, Beau Biden.
According to Buhle, Hunter acknowledged using crack cocaine after she confronted him about what she had found, an account she later repeated under oath during his federal gun trial.
In June 2024, Buhle testified for the prosecution during Hunter Biden’s federal gun trial, describing his drug use and her efforts to persuade him to seek treatment.
Her testimony was part of a broader prosecution case concerning whether Hunter had falsely denied being an unlawful user of controlled substances when purchasing a firearm in 2018.
Buhle told jurors that she had searched Hunter’s vehicle for drugs because she worried about their children encountering drug paraphernalia.
She also described changes in his behavior while he was using drugs, including becoming more irritable and increasingly difficult for family members to reach.
The testimony brought previously private aspects of the couple’s marriage into a federal courtroom and renewed media attention around Hunter Biden’s history of addiction.
Buhle’s memoir also described the discovery of Hunter’s relationship with Hallie Biden, the widow of his late brother Beau.
According to Buhle’s account, her daughters discovered text messages between Hunter and Hallie and informed their mother about the relationship.
Hunter Biden discussed the relationship in his own 2021 memoir, “Beautiful Things,” offering his perspective on the circumstances surrounding his relationship with Hallie after Beau’s death.
The two accounts therefore provide different perspectives on a deeply personal period involving grief, addiction, separation and the eventual end of Hunter and Kathleen Buhle’s marriage.
Buhle divorced Hunter Biden in 2017 after more than two decades together and later removed “Biden” from her name.
Her memoir explained that she wanted to move forward from the marriage and reclaim an identity that had become closely connected to her former husband.
The book also discussed the emotional consequences of living with addiction and infidelity, while emphasizing Buhle’s own process of rebuilding her life after the divorce.
The Washington Post described the memoir as an account of why Buhle remained in the marriage and ultimately decided to leave, rather than a political exposé.
Buhle also told CBS News that she had spoken with investigators examining Hunter Biden’s business dealings, although she said she had little knowledge of the family’s finances.
That distinction is important because Buhle’s personal account should not automatically be treated as evidence supporting broader allegations about President Joe Biden or other members of the Biden family.
Her publicly documented statements have primarily concerned her marriage to Hunter, his addiction, his relationships and the effect those experiences had on their children.
During the 2024 federal trial, prosecutors used testimony from Buhle and others to establish evidence concerning Hunter Biden’s drug use around the time he purchased the firearm.
Hunter Biden was subsequently convicted on three federal firearms-related counts and was later pardoned by President Joe Biden in December 2024.
Buhle’s story has continued to attract political attention because Hunter Biden is the son of a former president, but the underlying accounts remain centered largely on personal and family events.
Claims that she “flipped” and revealed previously unknown Biden-family secrets therefore go beyond what her documented memoir, interviews and courtroom testimony establish.
What she did provide was a detailed first-person account of a troubled marriage, addiction and family conflict involving one of the most politically prominent American families.
Those firsthand accounts remain significant to understanding Hunter Biden’s personal history, while broader political claims require separate evidence and should not be inferred solely from Buhle’s experiences.
