RAPE ALLEGATION AGAINST TRUMP: 1993 CLAIM RESURFACES IN NEW CONGRESSIONAL REPORT AS PRESSURE MOUNTS OVER EPSTEIN FILES
A newly released congressional report has brought a decades-old allegation against President Donald Trump back into public debate, intensifying scrutiny of his past connections to Jeffrey Epstein.
The report, released on October 26, 2026, by Democratic staff of the House Judiciary Committee, recounts allegations made by Beatrice Keul, a former Miss Switzerland contestant.
Keul alleges that Trump raped her at New York City's Plaza Hotel in November 1993, when she was 24 and pursuing opportunities in modeling and financial services.
According to the report, Keul attended a Trump-sponsored beauty pageant after being recruited by event promoter Jill Harth, who allegedly invited her to participate in the competition.
Keul said she met Trump during a press luncheon at the Plaza Hotel, where he allegedly discussed helping her obtain a United States visa and admission to New York University.
She also told congressional staff that she encountered Epstein during the event and that he made similar offers of assistance with her future plans.
The report says Keul was later invited to a private hotel suite, where she alleges Trump assaulted her. Her account has not been established through a criminal trial.
Keul further alleged that Trump subsequently urged her to remain silent while repeating promises of assistance with her visa and education.
She said she returned to Switzerland after the pageant and declined invitations to participate in additional events associated with Trump.
The report also recounts Keul's claim that Trump later contacted her in Switzerland, again offering assistance with immigration and educational arrangements that she ultimately refused.
The White House has categorically denied the allegations, describing them as untrue and characterizing the Democratic report as politically motivated.
Trump has not been criminally charged in connection with Keul's allegation, and the congressional report does not establish that the alleged assault occurred.
The document relies on interviews with Keul and material she provided to congressional staff. Photographs showing her at the pageant establish that she attended the event, but do not independently verify her account of what happened inside the suite.
An important complication is that Keul previously described the encounter in an October 2024 interview with the Daily Mail.
In that earlier account, she alleged that Trump kissed and groped her and attempted to lift her dress, but she said she stopped his advances.
Her earlier description differs materially from the rape allegation detailed in the 2026 congressional report, which acknowledges the discrepancy without resolving it.
The difference between the two accounts has become a significant issue in assessing the allegations, although it does not independently establish which description is accurate.
The report also places Keul's allegations within wider congressional scrutiny of Epstein, the convicted sex offender whose connections to prominent political and business figures remain under investigation.
Separately, the Justice Department released previously withheld FBI interview summaries in March 2026 concerning an unidentified woman who made uncorroborated allegations against Trump and Epstein involving events in the 1980s.
Those records concern a different accuser and a different period. They should not be confused with Keul's account of an alleged incident in 1993.
The broader controversy has raised questions about the handling of Epstein-related records, the completeness of government disclosures, and how allegations involving powerful individuals should be investigated.
For now, Keul's allegations remain disputed, the White House maintains its denial, and no criminal charge against Trump has resulted from her account.
The newly published report has renewed public attention, but determining what happened in 1993 would require evidence and investigative findings beyond the allegations summarized in the congressional document.
