President Donald Trump is weighing his next move in the U.S.-Iran war after telling Fox News that major developments could come soon as military and diplomatic pressure intensifies across the region.

Fox chief foreign correspondent Trey Yingst described Trump as being in “deciding mode” over possible new strikes, while Trump warned Tehran that it “better behave” and said “very big things” could happen.

The phrase “deciding mode” appears to be Fox News’ characterization of Trump’s posture rather than a verbatim quotation from the president, an important distinction from the wording in the viral graphic.

Trump nevertheless used unusually stark language about his options, publicly suggesting Washington could intensify military pressure, continue economic coercion, or pursue another agreement if Iranian leaders accept acceptable terms.

The conflict has lasted nearly seven months since U.S. and Israeli forces opened their campaign against Iran on February 28, with intermittent attacks continuing despite an attempted agreement reached in June.

Associated Press reporting says the war remains unresolved even after U.S. forces loosened Iran’s grip on the Strait of Hormuz and sharply reduced Tehran’s ability to export oil.

Iran’s economy has been hit hard by sanctions and the maritime blockade, but Tehran has not made the concessions Washington seeks and has continued signaling that further pressure could bring retaliation.

The Strait of Hormuz remains central because roughly one-fifth of the world’s traded oil and gas normally passes through it, making prolonged disruption a major risk for global energy markets.

Recent disruptions have helped push Brent crude above $100 a barrel, while rising fuel costs have added economic and political pressure in the United States ahead of the November midterm elections.

Iran said it conveyed conditions for ending the conflict through Qatar and was awaiting a U.S. response, according to Fox News, adding a diplomatic track to the renewed military uncertainty.

Trump has also said he is open to meeting Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian during the United Nations General Assembly in New York, although no bilateral meeting has been publicly confirmed.

The Trump administration approved visas for Pezeshkian, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and essential members of Iran’s delegation, despite the continuing war and severe restrictions on U.S.-Iran diplomatic relations.

The State Department said the Iranian delegation would face travel and purchasing restrictions in New York, reflecting Washington’s effort to meet host-country obligations while maintaining pressure on Tehran.

Regional tensions have also widened as Iran-backed Houthi forces in Yemen intensified attacks on Saudi infrastructure and shipping, adding pressure to another major trade route through the Red Sea.

Fox News reported that U.S. embassies issued new security warnings after Houthi attacks near Riyadh, while Washington continued naval operations connected to the blockade and protection of commercial shipping.

As of September 21, the White House had not publicly announced a new large-scale strike order, leaving Trump’s comments as a warning that multiple military and diplomatic options remain under consideration.

Congress has also challenged the conduct of the war, with the House passing another war-powers resolution on September 15 aimed at limiting further military action without additional congressional authorization.

Public opinion has become another pressure point: a September Fox News poll found 71% of registered voters believed the administration lacked a clear strategy for ending the Iran conflict.

The same survey found 60% considered U.S. military action against Iran the wrong decision, while 37% supported it, illustrating the domestic political stakes surrounding Trump’s next move.

The most accurate reading of the viral headline is therefore narrower: Trump is weighing his next step and warning of major developments, while “deciding mode” was reported by Fox rather than quoted directly.
